Tails are wagging as Long Beach Animal Care Services joins forces with NBCUniversal Local for the nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign, running through August 31.

Clear the Shelters, now in its 11th year, has already helped more than one million animals nationwide find homes since its launch in 2015. LBACS is aiming to add to that number this August, with the support of the Long Beach community.
Throughout the month, LBACS is offering $25 adoption specials for dogs weighing 25 pounds or more (big love, small price) and $9 adoption specials for kittens. Then, on the final days of the campaign, all adoption fees will be waived from August 29 through August 31.
Adoptions can be made in person at the shelter, located at 7700 E. Spring St., Wednesday through Sunday. Those hoping to browse online can search by breed, gender and size at cleartheshelters.com.

Beyond adopting, residents can support the cause through donations, fostering, volunteering or simply sharing adoptable pets on social media to help them reach more potential families.
