Tis’ the Season: Long Beach Hosts Free Holiday Events
The holiday season is about to get merrier—Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is hosting three free, family-friendly celebrations this December at parks throughout the city. Each event is designed to spark joy, create memories and bring neighbors together, all part of PRM’s commitment to offering safe, welcoming spaces for the community to gather.
Santa’s Workshop at Silverado Park
Families are invited to kick off the celebrations at Santa’s Workshop on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Silverado Park (1545 W. 31st St.).
Hosted in partnership with Neighbor-to-Neighbor, a program of California Volunteers, Office of the Governor, Santa’s Workshop brings a full slate of seasonal activities — carnival games, crafts, cookie decorating, family games, educational stations and photos with Santa. Kids can also pick up an Activities Passport to guide them through the day’s festivities.
Neighbor-to-Neighbor, led locally by the City’s Office of Climate Action and Sustainability, works to strengthen community connections and help neighborhoods come together around shared needs and experiences.

Winter Fest at Lincoln Park
In collaboration with the Long Beach Public Library, PRM will host Winter Fest at Lincoln Park (101 Pacific Ave.) on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participants can enjoy hot chocolate, try ice fishing, make seasonal crafts, test their aim with snowball toss games and say hello to Santa. Kids can also decorate cookies, create beaded holiday keepsakes and enjoy face painting. The library will offer Santa photos starting at 11:30 a.m. and a festive story time at 1:30 p.m., along with a raffle for fun prizes.
Complimentary parking will be available in the Civic Center Parking Garage (332 W. Broadway). For more details, call 562.570.3524.
Cookies with Santa at Ramona Park
Ramona Park will host Cookies with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 10 a.m. to noon, offering families a cozy morning filled with crafts, treats and festive cheer.
Kids can decorate cookies, enjoy balloon crafts, take photos with Santa and try out this year’s newest attraction: an 18-passenger trackless train offering rides in a safe, designated area of the park. Light refreshments will be available. For more information, including weather updates, call 562.570.1665.
