Long Beach City Council Takes Annual Summer Break

The Long Beach City Council is taking its annual summer break from meetings.

There are no City Council meetings on June 23, June 30, July 7 or July 14. Regular meetings will resume on Tuesday, July 21.

It’s a standard practice for jurisdictions to conduct a legislative recess over the summer months. This is in alignment with the State of California and other major California cities.

While the Council won't be gathering in the chamber, councilmembers aren't taking the summer off. They'll still be working with residents, attending neighborhood events and staying engaged in the community throughout the break.

City services also will continue as usual, and commission and committee meetings will still take place on their regular schedules.
