Pet of the Week: Distinguished Pup Onyx Looks for Forever Home
Every pet has a story—and this week, we’re highlighting one that’s full of resilience, charm and hope. This gentleman at Long Beach Animal Care Services is searching for a fresh start and a place to finally call home.
Meet Onyx, a 7-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier with a big heart and soulful brown eyes. Weighing in at 58 pounds, Onyx is one of the shelter’s beloved “Long-Stay Legends,” having waited more than a year now for someone to see just how special he is.
Onyx is also a true example of resilience. As a tripod, he gets around on three legs after losing one to cancer, but that hasn’t slowed down. He still enjoys walks, time outdoors and simply being around people.
An all-around great companion, he’s friendly and calm with a playful, silly side.
With a black coat true to his name and adorable white toes, he’s one handsome gentleman dressed up with a top hat, and he’s ready to perform tricks in a loving forever home.
