Third-Annual Space Beach Youth Camp is Gearing Up for Take Off
This summer, young people in Long Beach can explore the City’s nationally recognized Space Beach economy through a career exploration program designed to help them learn about emerging opportunities across aerospace, aviation, engineering and other related fields.
The 2026 Space Beach Youth Camp is a free, six-day program that will provide a cohort of up to 25 youth ages 17 to 21 with hands-on activities including participating employer site visits, career panels, networking opportunities with industry professionals and more. The program will take place from July 21-23 and 28-30. Participants who successfully complete the six-day program may be eligible for an incentive of up to $1,000.
Applications are available online until Wednesday, July 8, 2026, for youth who are interested in gaining meaningful peer, mentor and employer connections within the dynamic Space Beach sector.
The Space Beach Youth Camp is funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Program. To participate in the program and qualify for the incentive, eligible youth must meet WIOA In-School Youth eligibility requirements:
- Be enrolled in school.
- Meet low-income eligibility guidelines.
- Be facing at least one eligible barrier to employment or education such as being an English language learner, justice-involved, experiencing homelessness, currently or formerly in foster care, pregnant or parenting, an individual with a disability or needing additional assistance to complete an educational program or secure or hold employment.
