Runners will step up for the annual 2XU Long Beach Marathon this weekend, while the rest of us cheer from the sidelines. Beyond that, there are opportunities to hear a symphony concert, explore local art studios, visit a pumpkin patch and otherwise embrace the Halloween holiday season. Here’s a look at what’s happening:
Date: Select dates through Sunday, Nov. 15
Time: Showtimes vary
Location: Long Beach Playhouse (5021 E. Anaheim St.)
What to Expect: It’s opening weekend, with a Friday night preview, of the Long Beach Playhouse’s studio theater production of “Reefer Madness.” It’s an unlikely musical comedy inspired by an earnest public service film of the same name.
Cost: Ticketed event
