Denmark Selects Long Beach as Home Base for 2028 Olympics

Long Beach is making history as the first city in the region to secure two National Hospitality Houses for the 2028 Olympic Games. The National Olympic Committee of Denmark recently selected Long Beach as its official home base. This comes after the Hellenic Olympic Committee selected Long Beach as the site of Greece’s first-ever Team House, located at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church.
Denmark’s House of Denmark will be located at The Westin Long Beach and will serve as the central hub for the Danish Olympic Committee during the Olympic Games. The facility will also function as a high-performance base for Danish Olympic athletes competiting in Long Beach and surrounding areas.
Adding to the excitement, Denmark will also bring its iconic training ship, the DANMARK, to Long Beach. The ship was built in 1933 and has served for decades as Denmark’s nautical ambassador and maritime education platform. Manned by professional crew and maritime cadets, the ship symbolizes leadership, seamanship and international cooperation.
Long Beach continues to attract strong interest from National Olympic Committees, National Paralympic Committees and global partners seeking spaces for Team Headquarters, Hospitality Houses, brand activations and watch parties during the 2028 Games. Through the City’s Office of Global Partnerships and Protocol, Long Beach is actively engaging with international delegations to showcase the City’s unique assets, world-class venues and welcoming community.
Local businesses and property owners interested in activating space or renting properties for the 2028 Games are encouraged to submit an online interest form to connect with Games stakeholders.
