The City of Long Beach is inviting residents and food truck operators to take part in upcoming community meetings about a proposed Mobile Food Facility Ordinance that would establish clear guidelines for permits, parking, licenses and operating requirements for food trucks and other mobile vendors.

Crafted with years of community input, the proposed ordinance aims to ensure food trucks and other mobile food facilities can operate safely and successfully throughout the city.

Two meetings will give the public a chance to learn more and share feedback:

Virtual Meeting

Wednesday, Nov. 19, 6–8 p.m.

Residents and operators can learn about the proposed ordinance and ask questions during a live Q&A. The session will be recorded and posted afterward on the City’s Mobile Food Facilities webpage. Register here.

In-Person Meeting for Operators

Tuesday, Dec. 2, 10–11:30 a.m., Billie Jean King Main Library

Food truck and mobile food facility operators will receive guidance on steps to stay in compliance once the ordinance is adopted. After a brief presentation, attendees can connect directly with City staff to prepare necessary paperwork. Register here.

Interpretation services in Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog will be available at both meetings. An online feedback form will also be shared for anyone who wishes to provide input after the sessions.

Feedback collected during the meetings will be presented to the Long Beach City Council when the proposed ordinance is considered for adoption in early 2026.
