Already confirmed to stage 11 Olympic sporting events, Long Beach added to its already winning lineup this week with the announcement of seven Paralympic sporting events also being staged in the city for the 2028 Games. This recent reveal from the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28), brings Long Beach’s total sporting events to 18 – the most outside of the host City of Los Angeles.

Long Beach spectators will have the unique opportunity to revel in the thrill of world-class athletic performances while enjoying the scenic views of the iconic Long Beach shoreline.

While the City is wholeheartedly embracing the 2028 Games, fueled by the excitement for this once in a generation opportunity, it is simultaneously committed to being financially responsible. This has been demonstrated by working alongside the LA28 team that has designed a Games Plan to fit events into existing world-class venues in already established competition zones in Long Beach. This strategy does a few things: makes the overall experience for athletes and spectators much better; keeps additional expenses and impact lower; and welcomes more visitors, contributing to the local economy and bringing more revenue to Long Beach.

The world is coming to Long Beach and we are getting ready – connecting with community, creating partnerships and enhancing our infrastructure for the benefit of our community for decades to come.
