Get Ready to Groove, Long Beach – Dance Fest Returns for its 17th Year

Get ready to break out your best moves for a night of culture, community and creativity. Dance Fest returns for its 17 year on Saturday, August 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cesar E. Chavez Park Amphitheater (401 Golden Ave.).
Hosted by the City of Long Beach Department of Park, Recreation and Marine’s (PRM) Homeland Cultural Center, Dance Fest is a free event that showcases performances from community members participating in classes offered by the center. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and picnic-style blankets to enjoy the show.
The nationally recognized Homeland Cultural Center provides free classes in dance, music, culture and arts to Long Beach residents at MacArthur Park. Whether it be West African Dance, Khmer Martial Arts or Breakdance, the Homeland Cultural Center teaches a wide range of classes, helping pass on cultural traditions to the community. Dance Fest is a joyful celebration of these efforts and gives students the opportunity to have their talent recognized and appreciated on the big stage.
