Long Beach Airport Earns “A-” Rating, Positive Outlook From Fitch Ratings

Long Beach Airport is on a strong financial trajectory, with Fitch Ratings revising its outlook from “stable” to “positive” while affirming the Airport’s A- credit rating. A Fitch rating evaluates an organization’s ability and willingness to repay its financial obligations fully and on time, providing an independent, standardized measure of credit risk. The designation reflects the Airport’s improved financial position and expectations for continued improvement, creating a strong foundation for future investments and enhancements.
Fitch highlighted Long Beach Airport’s strong position within the diverse Los Angeles region, as well as its operational flexibility, effective rate-setting structure and well-maintained infrastructure. The positive outlook also reflects confidence in the Airport’s ability to maintain its financial performance while continuing to invest in its facilities.
The Airport’s ongoing Capital Improvement Program includes planned taxiway and concourse upgrades, which are expected to be funded through existing Airport resources and grants. These investments will help maintain and enhance the Airport’s facilities while supporting a continued focus on a high-quality experience for travelers.
