Long Beach Hosts College & Career Expo for Students and Families
The City of Long Beach hosted the Long Beach College & Career Expo, connecting students and families with over 75 college and universities, as well as dozens of companies to explore educational and career pathways.
The expo was held on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the Long Beach Convention Center in partnership with Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD), the Long Beach College Promise, the Mayor’s Fund for Long Beach, S.T.R.E.A.M. Global, Port of Long Beach and other regional education and workforce partners.
During the event, students had opportunities to connect directly with professionals, discover careers and educational pathways across a variety of industries, including aerospace and engineering; healthcare and medical careers; skilled trades and apprenticeships; technology and artificial intelligence; business and entrepreneurship; creative arts and media; hospitality and tourism; transportation and logistics; environmental sustainability; public safety; local government and public service; education and human services; and many more emerging career sectors.
The expo also featured new opportunities for students to explore how the Games are creating career pathways across the region, including how the City and other regional partners are preparing Long Beach for the Olympics.
The Expo reflects the shared vision and commitment of the Long Beach College Promise, a partnership among the City, LBUSD, California State University, Long Beach and Long Beach City College, to support student success and workforce readiness while aligning K-12, college and career opportunities for Long Beach youth. It aligns closely with the City's Strategic Vision 2030, Grow Long Beach Blueprint, Elevate '28 Infrastructure Investment Plan, and the Youth and Emerging Adults Strategic Plan, all of which prioritize expanding equitable access to community, cultural and educational opportunities, career readiness and pathways into high-quality employment.
