Long Beach is taking its next big step toward making the City more accessible and inclusive. In collaboration between the City of Long Beach’s Citizens’ Advisory Commission on Disabilities (CACoD) and the Office of Equity, the Disability Data & Community Survey is now available through May 1.

As the City continues to prepare for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a key priority is gaining a deeper understanding of the Long Beach disability community. This survey will advise new policies around equitable access to City services and help staff collect demographic data. The survey will collect information through several methods including interviews, testimonials and focus groups to identify key existing and emerging needs for people with disabilities in Long Beach.

Based on the data collected, a report on the state of disability in Long Beach will be compiled and distributed to all City departments by late 2026.

People with disabilities, both diagnosed and undiagnosed, who live, work, attend school or visit Long Beach are encouraged to take the survey online in English, Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog.

The survey is also available in paper format or over the phone in multiple languages by contacting ada@longbeach.gov or 562.570.6257. Those with technology access constraints may also visit any open Long Beach Public Library location to access the survey via their public computer labs.
