Long Beach Residents Invited to Share Input During Community Development Week
Shape the future of Long Beach during National Community Development Week.
Hosted by the City’s Community Development Department, the weeklong effort is all about connecting with the community—through events, workshops and a citywide survey—to gather input on how federal funding supports housing, neighborhood improvements and essential services across Long Beach.
At the center of the effort is a community survey, open through May 2, which will help guide the City’s 2026 HUD Action Plan, a key document that determines how federal funding is invested locally. These funds support programs such as the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG), all of which play a role in expanding affordable housing and strengthening neighborhoods.
From April 6 to 11, City staff will also be out in the community—going door-to-door in eligible neighborhoods, attending local events and sharing updates on social media through @LongBeachBuilds.
