Long Beach Seeks Input on Housing and Community Funding Priorities
Where should federal dollars go to make the biggest difference in Long Beach? City officials are asking residents to weigh in as they map out spending priorities for the next five years.
The resulting 2027–32 plan will help determine how federal grants are used to support affordable housing, community development and services for people experiencing homelessness, with a focus on low- and moderate-income residents and neighborhoods.
Here’s how you can have your say:
- Residents can take the City’s online survey through March 16, 2027. The survey is available in English, Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog.
- City staff will also gather feedback at community events throughout the fall and early spring, including the Westside Night Market series on the third Friday of each month in October and November.
- Two additional in-person events are planned for early 2027, with dates to be announced. Residents will be able to learn more about the plan, take part in an interactive activity to help identify funding priorities and share their ideas.
The process will continue into spring 2027, when the City plans to hold two public hearings and release a draft of the plan for a 30-day public review and comment period, which will include a virtual feedback session before the plan goes to the City Council for approval.
