New Long Beach Expo Helps Local Businesses Navigate City Procurement Process
Local businesses and nonprofits are invited to attend Long Beach’s first Doing Business with the City Expo, an opportunity to learn how to sell goods and services to the City.
The Expo will take place on Thursday, April 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Wardlow Park Social Hall (3457 Stanbridge Ave.).
With a focus on securing contracts through the City’s procurement process, presentations throughout the afternoon will cover vendor registration, certification requirements and an overview of how the City purchases goods and services.
The program will also highlight business opportunities connected to the upcoming 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which are expected to bring significant economic activity to the region.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with staff from various City departments to learn about specific contracting needs and upcoming projects.
Business owners and nonprofit leaders interested in participating are encouraged to RSVP online in advance. Interpretation services will be available upon request.
The Expo—taking place on the heels of National Procurement Month in March—is part of Long Beach’s broader effort to expand access, increase transparency and encourage greater local participation in public contracting.
Long Beach also hosts monthly Doing Business with the City webinars. The next webinar is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, at 11 a.m., and will provide an overview of the procurement process and available business resources. Participants will receive Zoom meeting details after completing the online registration form.
