Pet of the Week: Buttons Is Ready to Brighten Your Life
There are many deserving pets at Long Beach Animal Care Services looking for loving forever homes. This week's featured companion is Buttons, a young dog with a joyful spirit, a striking brindle coat and a smile that is impossible to forget.
Though just 1-year-old, Buttons’ face makes her seem wiser than her years, with expressive eyes that reflect both curiosity and kindness. Weighing in at 54 pounds, she is an American Pit Bull Terrier mix.
After being found wandering on her own, Buttons spent more than a week with a Good Samaritan who cared for her while searching for her family and quickly fell in love with her sweet personality.
When no owner came forward, Buttons made her way to Long Beach Animal Care Services. Like many dogs adjusting to a new environment, Buttons was initially shy at the shelter. It didn't take long, however, for her personality to shine. Staff quickly discovered a loving, playful pup who enjoys companionship and has adapted well to shelter life. She currently shares her kennel successfully with another active dog and would likely thrive in a home with a canine playmate.
As charming as she is beautiful, she has adorable white toes, and her wide, happy smile lights up every room she enters. Full of youthful energy and enthusiasm, she is looking for an adopter who can keep up with her adventurous spirit while providing the love and stability she deserves.
