Registration is now open for Long Beach youth to join the Dodgers Dreamteam program this summer.

Offered by the City’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine in partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, the program connects underserved youth to baseball and softball while providing access to mentorship, wellness resources and community support. Families can sign up online through May 31, 2026.

Designed as more than just a sports league, Dodgers Dreamteam uses baseball and softball as an opportunity to teach social and emotional skills, develop relationships with peers and role models and promote positive mental health. Long Beach has been part of the program since 2017, serving more than 5,000 local youth to date.

This year’s program will run from June through August and is expected to include 89 teams across 23 parks citywide. Programming is available for a wide range of ages, from T-ball and coach pitch for children ages 5 to 8 to baseball and fastpitch softball divisions for youth ages 9 to 18.

Spots are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with some locations expected to reach capacity quickly. Practice schedules will vary by team and location.

Participants receive uniforms for a $15 fee, along with access to necessary sports and protective equipment. Beyond the field, players can take part in free events and programs focused on building confidence, teamwork and life skills. The program also connects families to wraparound services that support basic needs and promote healthier outcomes. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.

The program is funded through a $50,430 grant from the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, which has supported Long Beach’s participation each year since 2017. In 2025 alone, more than 1,300 local youth took part.

The program plays an important role in expanding access to recreational opportunities and reducing barriers for low-income families, aligning with broader efforts to strengthen parks and community programming across Long Beach.

Families can register online or visit any Long Beach Public Library location to use a public computer if needed.
