Celebrate Veterans Day With Music, Fun and Food at Houghton Park
This Veterans Day, the City of Long Beach invites you to honor the brave men and women who have served our country and continue to inspire our community. Join us on Saturday, Nov. 8 from noon to 4 p.m. at Houghton Park to honor veterans and those currently serving in the United States military.
This free, family-friendly event has something for everyone—including a bootcamp-style obstacle course, a kid’s zone, flyovers with historic aircraft and a veteran's resource fair.
The Veterans Recognition Ceremony kicks off the day's festivities, spotlighting remarkable individuals and organizations making a difference to the veterans’ community:
- Gus Orozco, “2025 Veterans Day Celebration Grand Marshal”
- American Gold Star Manor Long Beach, “Outstanding Community Organization”
- Ryan Antes, “Outstanding Volunteer”
- Skip Keesal, “In Memoriam”
Following the ceremony, the afternoon kicks into full swing with live performances by The Satin Dollz, who bring 1940s Big Band Swing Era vibes to the stage, and Knyght Ryder, Long Beach’s favorite ‘80s and ‘90s tribute band. Once you’ve danced up an appetite, visit the food trucks and beer garden.
With DJ sets and emcee Mr. Quick keeping it high energy all afternoon—this is a celebration you won’t want to miss.
The complete schedule of events is as follows:
- 12:30 p.m. – Veterans Recognition Ceremony, historic aircraft flyovers and Presentation of Colors by Cabrillo High School’s NJROTC Color Guard
- 1:15 p.m. – The Satin Dollz live musical performance
- 2:30 p.m. – Knyght Ryder live musical performance
