Long Beach Hosting Inclusive Career Fair For TGI2S+ Community
The City of Long Beach is continuing its commitment to building an inclusive and equitable workforce by hosting a career fair designed to connect members of the transgender, gender expansive, intersex and two-spirit+ (TGI2S+) community with meaningful job opportunities and resources.
The free event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 at the Billie Jean King Main Library.
Hosted in partnership by the City’s Departments of Economic Development, Health and Human Services, and Library, Arts and Culture, the career fair will bring together a diverse group of employers and community organizations in a welcoming, supportive environment.
Attendees can connect directly with hiring representatives, explore open positions and access services tailored to support career growth and stability.
Participating employers include well-known organizations such as AppleOne, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Ulta Beauty, among others.
In addition, the event will feature community partners offering specialized services and support for TGI2S+ individuals. Participating organizations include Alexis Project, APLA Health, The LGBTQ Center Long Beach, and others dedicated to advancing health, wellness and equity.
Workshops throughout the event will also provide helpful guidance on navigating the City of Long Beach hiring process to equip attendees with tools to pursue new opportunities with confidence.
To further support participants, optional virtual preparation sessions will be offered in advance of the event. Those who express interest through the RSVP form will receive additional details to help them prepare and make the most of their experience.
This event builds on the City’s ongoing efforts to uplift and support the TGI2S+ community. Long Beach recently hosted a Transgender Day of Visibility celebration at Bixby Park, bringing the community together to celebrate identity, increase visibility and connect residents with affirming resources.
By creating spaces for connection, opportunity and support, Long Beach continues to foster a city where all residents can thrive.
For more information about the career fair, community members may contact the City’s Economic Development Department or visit the event RSVP page online.
