Long Beach, Japan Strengthen Global Partnership in Aerospace Industry

Long Beach recently welcomed more than 120 participants from Japan for an event showcasing the city’s unique opportunities for innovation, investment and employment in the aerospace industry.
Participants convened at the Museum of Latin American Art to hear from industry leaders including GXO, JetZero, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Mitsubishi Electric United States, Nikon Advanced Manufacturing, Relativity Space and Vast.
Participants heard about emerging technologies, industry trends and the future of aerospace innovation while exploring opportunities to strengthen connections between Long Beach and Japan. The visit also included a tour of Vast’s local headquarters, giving participants an inside look at the company’s cutting-edge operations and advancements in commercial space technology.
The event builds on Long Beach’s growing global partnerships and highlights the role of international collaboration in strengthening the city’s Space Beach ecosystem. Building on its legacy as an aviation powerhouse, Long Beach is reaching new heights as one of the nation's most dynamic and fastest growing hubs for space, aerospace and advanced technology. Space Beach is creating thousands of jobs while generating long-term economic benefits and advancing the future of sustainable air and space technologies. Today more than three dozen space and aerospace companies operate throughout the city, employing more than 7,000 people.
