Long Beach Offers Over 700 Spring Recreation Activities This Spring
A new season of fun and fitness kicks off in March, with classes, activities, sports and leagues offered by the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM).
Whether you are looking for an exciting new hobby or just want to stay healthy and active this spring, PRM has just the class for you. From K-Pop Musical Theater Camp for the little ones to Mindfulness Tai Chi & Qigong for busy adults, community members can register for classes that fit their lifestyle goals.
Here’s just a few examples of the class offerings opening up for the spring season:
- Parent and Me Soccer – join in your toddler’s introduction to soccer while they build their motor and socialization skills through fun, age-appropriate activities (ages 2 to 3 years, 6 months).
- Babysitter, First-Aid, CPR & AED Training – learn safe, fun skills to become the favorite babysitter every family wants (ages 12 years and up).
- Teen Ukulele – learn to play ukulele, build skills and confidence and learn fun songs in this beginner group course. No instrument needed, ukuleles provided (ages 12 to 16 years).
- Ballroom Dance: Waltz & Friends – guided by a cognitive mobility expert, move to feel-good music while improving balance, coordination, memory and mood with gentle, patterned steps (ages 50 years and up).
Classes will be open for registration beginning Monday, Feb. 2 and community members can secure a spot through a variety of formats:
- Online by visiting LB Rec Connect.
- In-Person at the Registration Reservations Office located at 2760 Studebaker Rd., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
