School may be out for summer soon, but the fun is just getting started at parks across Long Beach. The City of Long Beach’s Summer Fun Days program is back—offering children ages 5 to 12 a space to play games, sports and make arts and crafts.

Hosted by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, the free drop-in program runs weekdays from June 15 through Aug. 21 from noon to 5 p.m., giving kids a safe and active place to spend their summer afternoons while school is out.

Summer Fun Days has long served as a staple summer program for Long Beach families, offering opportunities for recreation, creativity and social connection in neighborhood parks throughout the city.

Registration opens June 1 at 9 a.m. and, for the first time, will take place entirely online through LB RecConnect. Parents and caregivers can register by selecting “Activities” and searching “Summer Fun.”

Although the program is free, pre-registration is required for participation. Families needing assistance with registration can contact their local park for support. Public computer labs at Long Beach Public Library locations will also be available for residents without reliable computer or smartphone access.

Additional information, including a full list of participating park locations, is available at lbcity.info/summerfundays.
