Long-Stay Shepherd Wetherby Ready for Second Chance
Our Pet of the Week series returns with another deserving dog. Each week, we highlight adoptable pets from Long Beach Animal Care Services who are hoping the right person or family will notice them and give them the home they’ve been waiting for.
Meet Wetherby, a 4-year-old male German Shepherd weighing in at about 84 pounds. After spending nearly a year at the shelter, this long-stay boy is more than ready to find his fur-ever family.
This handsome gentleman is currently in foster care, where his personality is really shining through.
Wetherby enjoys long walks and outdoor adventures, making him a great match for someone who likes to stay active. Whether it’s exploring a neighborhood trail, heading out for a weekend outing, or simply getting some fresh air together, Wetherby is happy to be right by your side.
This good boy is also well-mannered—he knows how to “sit” and take treats gently.
But it’s not all action with Wetherby. After a good walk or playtime, he’s just as content relaxing by your side, soaking up attention and companionship.
Dogs like Wetherby sometimes wait longer than they deserve but are often the most devoted companions. If you’ve been thinking about adding a loyal, loving dog to your life, Wetherby could be the perfect match.
