Long Beach Pet of the Week: Meet Practically Perfect Paisley
As we continue our new Pet of the Week series, we’re introducing another furry friend who’s ready for her forever home. Each week, we’ll spotlight an adoptable pet or share a heartwarming adoption story from Long Beach Animal Care Services—because sometimes the perfect companion is just waiting to be discovered.
Meet Paisley, a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing in at about 84 pounds of pure sweetness and calm confidence. Paisley arrived at Long Beach Animal Care Services as a stray back in April and has been patiently waiting for her forever home.
Unlike some of her younger, more energetic shelter neighbors, Paisley has already left the wild puppy phase behind. Staff describe her as gentle, mellow and affectionate. She’s the kind of dog who prefers a balanced lifestyle: a nice walk around the neighborhood followed by some quality cuddle time on the couch.
With her intelligent eyes, classic shepherd good looks and calm demeanor, she’s ready to trade her kennel for a home where she can truly settle in. If you’ve been looking for a loyal companion with a gentle soul, Paisley might just be your perfect match.
Ready to Meet Paisley?
Long Beach Animal Care Services is open to help you find your next best friend:
Hours:
Wednesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Phone: 562-570-7387
Website: www.longbeach.gov/acs
And don’t forget, on the First Friday of every month, adoption fees are waived for all cats, dogs and bunnies. Every adopted pet goes home spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. (You might call it the ulti-mutt deal.)
Every week, Inside LB’s Pet of the Week segment will highlight adoption stories or an adoptable pet who’s ready to find their forever family. We hope these tales (or should we say “tails”) will inspire our community to consider adoption first—your new best friend might just be waiting.
