Pet of the Week: Munchkin is a Tiny Speedster with a Big Personality
This week’s featured pet from Long Beach Animal Care Services is Munchkin—a tiny 8-month-old domestic short hair with big, curious eyes and an adorably oversized personality.
Weighing only 5.5 pounds, this sweet girl may be small, but she is full of love, determination, and playful energy. Munchkin is impossible not to fall in love with.
Munchkin, previously known as “Sidecar,” was rescued after it was suspected that she fell from a car engine, leaving her with road rash on all four paw pads and damage to her spinal cord. Because of her injuries, she has a unique walk in her hind legs and needs some assistance going pee. Despite everything she has been through, Munchkin has remained upbeat.
She is constantly purring, loves to play, and can move surprisingly fast—her silly walk certainly does not slow her down! In fact, her front legs have become especially strong, helping her zoom around with confidence and charm.
Munchkin has been receiving physical therapy to strengthen her hind legs. Medication has also helped her begin peeing on her own, though she will need continued support and care as she progresses.
She needs a patient, loving family willing to embrace her special needs and give her the happy future she deserves. If you are looking for a resilient, affectionate, and entertaining companion, Munchkin could be the perfect addition to your home.
