 Registration for Long Beach Summer Camps Starts April 11

Summer is just around the corner, and the City of Long Beach has plenty of ways for kids to stay active, curious and connected.

The City’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine is bringing back its popular lineup of Summer Day Camps, Aquatics Camps and Nature Kids! Discovery Camps, offering something for every kind of young explorer. Camps will run weekdays from June 15 through Aug. 21, 2026, with registration opening Saturday, April 11 at 9 a.m. Families are encouraged to sign up early, as spots tend to fill quickly.

All camps can be booked online starting April 11 at lbcity.info/DayCamps. For families who may not have access to a computer or smartphone, the City will offer self-enrollment stations from 9 a.m. to noon at select park locations, with staff available to assist.

Classic Summer Day Camps

For kids ages 5 to 12, Summer Day Camps offer a well-rounded mix of games, arts and crafts, fitness and enrichment activities—all designed to keep campers engaged and having fun throughout the day.

Camps run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with optional extended care available from 7a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Weekly fees are $123, or $160 with extended care.

Beach Days and Waterfront Adventures

For those who love the ocean breeze, Aquatics Day Camps bring summer to life with sand, sun and water-based fun. Two options are available:

  • Belmont Junior Beach Camp (ages 5 to 7)
  • Bayshore Beach Camp (ages 8 to 12)

These camps follow the same daily schedule, with weekly fees of $176 and optional extended care available for an additional cost.

Nature-Focused Discovery Camps

Nature lovers can dig into hands-on learning at Nature Kids! Discovery Camps, where exploration takes center stage. From wildlife observation to creative outdoor activities, these camps encourage curiosity and connection to the natural world.

Programs are available for:

  • Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) – $107 per week
  • Youth (ages 5 to 8) – $125 per week

Camps take place at El Dorado Nature Center and Colorado Lagoon, offering beautiful outdoor settings for learning and play.

Locations include:

  • Bixby Park
  • Pan American Park
  • Silverado Park
  • Veterans Park
  • Whaley Park

Community members can also register using public computers at local Long Beach Public Library locations.

To help ensure every child has the opportunity to participate, financial assistance is available for Summer Day Camps on a first-come, first-served basis.
