Team Ireland House Coming to Long Beach for the 2028 Olympic Games
Long Beach continues to build momentum toward the 2028 Olympic Games with a major announcement: the Olympic Federation of Ireland has selected Long Beach as the home of Ireland's Team Hospitality House during the LA28 Games.
With a strong Irish-American community, a vibrant Downtown entertainment district and a central location to Olympic venues, Long Beach will provide the backdrop for a dynamic and culturally-rich experience. The hospitality house will offer fans, athletes and visitors a place to celebrate Irish culture while connecting with the excitement of the Games.
Team Ireland House will be located at Ovation Square on Pine Avenue in Downtown Long Beach and will operate throughout the 2028 Olympic Games. Programming is expected to include live entertainment, cultural showcases, athlete and family gatherings, youth engagement activities, sponsor activations, retail experiences and exhibitions. The Olympic Federation of Ireland will also host youth-focused programming through its Dare to Believe initiative, designed to inspire young people by bringing Olympic values to life. Additional details will be announced as plans progress and are finalized, pending required permits.
With Ireland’s announcement, Long Beach has made history as the first city in the region to secure three confirmed National Hospitality Houses for the 2028 Games. This milestone follows the recent selection of Long Beach as the home of Greece’s first-ever Team House, hosted at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, and Denmark’s official House of Denmark, located at The Westin Long Beach.
The announcement also marks the first confirmed activation of a local business space through the City’s online interest form, which connects property owners with Olympic and Paralympic stakeholders. Long Beach continues to draw strong interest from National Olympic Committees, National Paralympic Committees and international partners seeking spaces to activate during the Games.
Hosted by the City of Los Angeles, the 2028 Olympic Games will take place July 14–30, 2028, followed by the Paralympic Games from Aug. 15–27, 2028. As a designated Venue City, Long Beach will host the largest number of sporting events outside of Los Angeles, with 11 Olympic events and seven Paralympic events planned.
