Registration Open for Long Beach’s Free After School Program
Looking for after-school plans? The City of Long Beach has you covered with its free After School Program this fall, offering children ages 5 to 12 a space to participate in recreational and educational activities at parks throughout the city.
Operated by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM), the program includes sports, games, arts and crafts, festivities and homework assistance during after-school hours.
Online registration is currently available through LB RecConnect.
Programs will run on weekdays from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027, at participating Long Beach parks. Depending on the location, programs will operate from either 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. or 3 to 6 p.m.
Pre-registration is required. Families can register through LB RecConnect by selecting “Activities” and searching “After School.”
Residents who need help registering can contact their local participating park. Those with limited access to a computer or smartphone can also use public computers at any open Long Beach Public Library location.
A complete list of participating parks, program hours, and additional information is available at lbcity.info/afterschoolprograms.
