This Weekend in Long Beach: Earth Month Starts with Outdoor Fun
Welcome to Inside LB’s guide to what’s happening around town. This weekend is Easter and the start of Earth Month, and we’re kicking things off with plenty of ways to get outside and celebrate springtime in Long Beach. Highlights from this weekend’s lineup include several farmers markets, family-friendly egg hunts, and the annual Cambodia Town Parade and Festival—plus plenty more!

What to Expect: Harbor Area Farmers Markets is organizing this in Bixby Knolls, bringing fresh, locally-grown produce to the community.

First Fridays Long Beach Animal Care Services
Date: Friday, April 3
Time: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Location: Long Beach Animal Care Services (7700 E. Spring St.)
What to Expect: Adoption fees are waived for all cats, dogs and bunnies on the first Friday of each month at Long Beach Animal Care Services. The pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

First Fridays Bixby Knolls: Long Beach County Fair
Date: Friday, April 3
Time: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Location: 4301 Atlantic Ave.
What to Expect: Shop and dine while enjoying live music and art at this monthly event in Bixby Knolls. This month’s theme is a county fair.
Cost: Free
Egg-Citing Easter Celebration at El Dorado Park
Date: Saturday, April 4
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: El Dorado East Regional Park (7550 E. Spring St.)
What to Expect: Celebrate Spring with train rides, Easter egg hunts and a special meet and greet with Sheriff Hopper the Easter Bunny!
Cost: Park admission, plus various packages.
18th Annual Cambodia Town Parade & Culture Festival
Date: Saturday, April 4
Time: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Anaheim Street, between Cherry and Orange avenues
What to Expect: One of the largest events in Long Beach, this parade and festival celebrates Khmer culture and traditions.
Cost: Free
2026 Tsunami Walk & Preparedness Fair
Date: Saturday, April 4
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Bixby Park (2051 E. Ocean Blvd.)
What to Expect: Visit information booths and talk to experts to learn how to stay safe and prepared in the event of a tsunami.
Cost: Free
Bixby Park Monthly Clean-Up and Free Bike Registration
Date: Saturday, April 4
Time: 9 to 11 a.m.
Location: Bixby Park Bandshell (2051 E. Ocean Blvd.)
What to Expect: Volunteer and help keep this beloved neighborhood park clean-up. Gloves, bags and pickers provided by the Friends of Bixby Park.

Location: Starting line is at Claremont Boat Launch (5300 E. Ocean Blvd.)
What to Expect: The Bunnies on the Bay Run is a 0.4-mile fun run, or hop, along the coast for people dressed in their best bunny costumes (inflatable ones highly encouraged!). This is a silly good time with photo opportunities.

Los Cerritos Wetlands Habitat Restoration
Date: Saturday, April 4
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Location: Pacific Coast Highway and 1st Street in Seal Beach
What to Expect: The Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a monthly habitat restoration event focused on non-native weed removal and rare native plant conservation.

Partners of Parks’ Spring Egg Hunt
Date: Saturday, April 4
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Admiral Kidd Park (2125 Santa Fe Ave.), Good Neighbor Park (2800 Studebaker Road) and Ramona Park (3301 E. 65
What to Expect: Bring your baskets for egg hunting at three local parks. There’ll be treats, tunes and photo-worthy moments.

'Rancho Los Cerritos: People Who Shaped the Land’ Book Signing
Date: Saturday, April 4
Time: Noon to 3 p.m.
Location: Rancho Los Cerritos (4600 Virginia Road)
What to Expect: Hear from Dr. Leslie Reese, author of “Rancho Los Cerritos: People Who Shaped the Land.” Beyond the author talk and book signing, there will be costumed interpreters, a photo-based history walk and food available for purchase.

Farmers Marketplace of Long Beach & Lakewood
Date: Sunday, April 5
Time: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: 5000 E. Spring St.
What to Expect: Find fresh fruits and vegetables as well as baked goods, roasted nuts, honey, fresh flowers and other goodies, plus live music.

Location: Long Beach City College, Pacific Coast Campus (1305 E. PCH)
What to Expect: Sankranta, organized in collaboration with the Cambodian American Cultural Center and Councilwoman Suely Saro, showcases the cultural diversity and rich traditions of countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.
